Scotty's Kindness Quest
Need
Big River Bakery (BRB) is a commercial bakery, shop, and training facility who they do so much more than that.
Our Manager Director felt so inspired after meeting Andy and Gail from BRB. She was amazed to hear about the work BRB do and the background and inspiration behind the work. Ruta shared this with Skewb founders, Shashi and Indu, and they agreed to support the creation of a game.
With such strong alignment with our own values we knew it would be a honour to support their amazing work. Through the power of Stottie and with our incredible design team came the birth of “Scotty’s Kindness Quest”.
Approach
Inspired by the rich history of the Stottie and the resilience of the North East of England, ‘Scotties Kindness Quest’ aims to reignite a sense of pride and achievement within the community. The Stottie, born in hardship but symbolising the transformation of waste into something special, serves as a poignant reminder of the region’s resourcefulness and spirit.
‘Scotty’s Kindness Quest’ is not just a North East first in terms of its content. It’s also been created so that it is accessible to players of all ages and abilities – taking into account neurodiversity and physical capabilities. Its inclusive design ensures that everyone can join in the fun and learn valuable lessons about kindness, community, and environmental stewardship. The game embodies the bakery’s core value of spreading kindness far and wide – now through the virtual world as well as the real world.
